Caring for a chronic illness or sudden health need when studying in Israel

My daughter is diabetic, what precautions will she need to take when on a school trip?
My son is in the emergency room with a broken leg, can you make sure he gets good care and understands what’s going on?
Can you arrange for a gastroenterologist to evaluate my son?
I don’t understand what the treatment plan is for my child, could you help us?

Help for student dealing with chronic illness

Our augmented health liaison services are available as an additional service for students studying in Israel.
If your child is signed up for our student package, we offer more intensive management in personal evaluation and intervention, extensive communications with your child's school, or augmented communications.
We can help your child with medical  instructions, advice, health promotion, prevention, and other services as needed.
We are also available to make arrangements for health accommodations, as needed.

Dealing with urgent health issues

In the case of a sudden health issue, EMA Care can act as your medical liaison.

Our augmented health liaison services include:

    • Accompanying your child to the urgent care clinic, ER, or medical appointment
    • Making arrangements to access health care
    • Providing extensive health education to you and your child
    • And more

Most parents register their child for a semester or academic package with an additional sign up for augmented services as needed. Click here to sign up for augmented health liaison services.

Augmented service registration requires an upfront payment equivalent to 3 hours of service. Upfront payment ensures availability during a crisis, which may be at an inconvenient time vis-à-vis time differences of parents around the globe.

Augmented health liaison services are available to help short term tourists who have urgent health needs.

Remember that EMA Care is not an emergency service provider and does not replace the need to call an ambulance in case of an emergency. In Israel, ambulances can be reached by dialing 101 from any phone. Most of the time, there is one emergency operator per shift who speaks English.

Do you have any questions or concerns? We are happy to speak with you. Please call today or fill out the contact form and click Send.

Recommended by an Infectious Disease Specialist

My experience with Ema Care has been so positive that I wanted to share it in case it could help someone else. Eight days ago my daughter, a Shanah Bet student, called to say she wasn’t feeling well and had symptoms of Covid-19. I was put in touch with an Infectious Disease specialist who recommended Ema Care. I reached Dr. Eliana Aaron easily and signed my daughter up. The next morning, Ema Care gave my daughter a telehealth exam and provided her with prescriptions, as well as a list of
